Maryland Sct I do hereby certify that by a codicil to the last will and Testament of a certain Nathan Godwin late of Queen Anns County deceased duly Executed on the 31.st day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and five and proved in my office on the twenty sixth day of November in the same year a certain negro man named Samuel who is the bearer hereof of a yellowish complexion five feet two and three quarter inches high about forty years of age has a very remarkable scar on his left shoulder was manumitted and set free his freedom to commence at the Expiration of three years from the death of the said Testator and proved by the oath of Henry Story to be the Identical person as mentioned in said will
