85 Maryland Queen Anns County To wit whereas a certain negro man named Noah Acres has made application to me for a certificate of freedom under an act of the General Assembly of Maryland passed at November Session 1805 I do therefore certify to all whom it doth or may concern that the Indentures of a certain Negro Boy named Noah Acres an orphan or free black child aged fourteen years on the 29.th day of January 1812 bound by and with the consent of his mother Ann Acres unto Greenberry Carman farmer until the said Noah shall arrive to the age of twenty one years was recd by the Orphans Court for Queen Anns County at the February Term in the year 1812 which said Negro Noah Acres is identified this day by Greenberry Carman the person to whom he was bound and is of the following discription viz of a dark complexion five feet four inches and one fourth of an inch in heighth a little knock kneed a scar on the right cheek bone and a small scar on his chin.
