80 State of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit Whereas a certain negro man named Dyer has made application to me for a Certificate of freedom under an Act of the General Assembly of Maryland passed at November Session 1805 I do therefore certify to all whom it doth or may Concern that by the last will & Testament of a certain Mary Harrison deceased duly executed on the 22.d day of September in the Year Eighteen hundred and Seven & passed in the Office of the Register of Wills for Kent County in the State of Maryland on the 1.st day of May in the Year 1813 a Copy of which has been received and recorded in the Records of the Orphans Court of Queen Anns County a Certain Negro Man Slave named Dyer of a mulatto or yellowish Complexion five feet five Inches and one eighth of an Inch in hight has a Scar on the right Knee occasioned by a Burn was bequeathed to a Certain Rich.d J. Harrison until he arrived at the age of twenty eight Years which time has expired by the oath of a certain Samuel T. Harrison the Brother of the aforesaid Richard J Harrison who at the same time identified the aforesaid negro man Dyer to be the actual person so bequeathed by Mary Harrison the said Testatrix Given under my hand and the Seal of my Office this 17.th day of March 1823 Tho.s C Earle Reg.r Wills Queen Anns County |
