78 Sate of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit whereas a certain negro man named Harry has made application to me for a certificate of freedom under an Act of the General Assembly of Maryland passed at November Session 1805 I do therefore certify to all whom it doth or may concern that by the last will & Testament of a certain Joel Smith late of Queen Anns County deceased duly executed on the 29.th day of July 1820 and proved in my office on the 15.th day of August 1820 a certain negro man named Harry very black five feet five & half inches in heighth a scar on his forehead & two scars on the ^his left^ wrist of his was manumitted & set free by the last will & Testament of the said Joel Smith His freedom to commence in two years from the time of the death of the said Joel Smith His person identified by a certain John Seegar Given under my hand and Seal this 14.th day of September 1822 Tho C Earle Regr Wills Queen Anns County State of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit whereas a certain negro woman named Ibby has made application to me for a certificate of freedom under an act of the General assembly of maryland passed at November Session 1805 I do therefore Certify to all whom it doth or may concern that by the last will and Testament of a certain John Dodd late of Queen Anns County deceased duly executed on the 20th day of May 1820 and proved in my office on the 17.th day of June in the same year a certain |
