77 year a certain negro Girl named Minty of a dark complexion four feet ten & half Inches high a Scar on the ^end of the^ first middle fingers of her left hand was manumitted & set free by the last will and Testament of the Said William Merchant her freedom to commence on the first day of Jany 1811 Her person identified by a certain George Palmer Given under my hand & Seal this 27.th day of July Anno Domini Eighteen hundred and twenty two Tho C Earle Rgr Wills Queen Anns County Sate of Maryland Queen Anns County To Wit Whereas a certain negro man named Samuel has made application to me for a certificate of freedom under the Act of the General Assembly of maryland passed at November Session Eighteen hundred and five I do therefore certify to all whom it doth or may concern that by the last will & Testamt of a certain William Legg late of Queen Anns County deceased duly executed on the 9.th day of April 1814 1815 a certain negro Boy named Samuel of a very light complexion five feet eight inches in height thick set round face and fine black hair was manumitted & set free by the last will & Testament of the said William Legg his freedom to commence on the first day of January 1821 His person identified by a certain William Harper Sen.r Given under my hand & Seal this 20.th day of August in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and twenty two Thos C Earle Rgr Wills Queen Anns County |
