74 State of Maryland Queen Anns County To Wit whereas application has been made to me for a certificate of Freedom by a certain negro woman named Omy commonly called Omy Willson I do therefore Certify to all persons whom it doth or may concern that by the last will & Testament of a certain Samuel Y. Keene late of Queen Anns County deceased duly executed on the first day of January eighteen hundred & eight and proved in my office on the eighteenth day of January in the same year a certain mulatto woman slave named Winny & her four children were manumitted & set free on the following conditions that is to say whenever a certain Samuel Willson shall pay to the Testator or his executors or administrators the sum of four hundred dollars which said conditions have been complied with as may be seen by reference to the certificate of Sarah Keene Executrix of the said Samuel Y. Keene recorded in the Cerks office of Queen Anns County on the 15.th day of April 1811. The said negro woman Omy is a bright mulatto five feet two inches in heigth a slight scar on each wrist & one on her right eye brow. Her person identified by a certain Marmaduke Goodhand ^+ who declars her to be one of the children of the said woman Winny^ Given under my hand and seal this thirtieth day of March Eighteen hundred & twenty two Tho C Earle Regr Wills Queen Anns County + Named in the will of Samuel Y Keene as aforesaid The State of Maryland Queen Anns couty to wit Whereas a certain negro Man Named Charles has made application to me for a certificate of Freedom under an act of the General Assembly of maryland passed November session Eighteen hundred and five I do therefore |
