State of maryland Queen Ann's County To Wit
             Whereas a certain negro man named
Robert commonly called Robert Brown has made
application to me for a certificate of freedom
under an Act of the General Assembly of this
State passed November Session Eighteen hundred
& five      I do therefore certify to all persons
whom it doth or may concern that by the
last will & Testament of a certain William
Gouldsborough late of Queen Anns County decd
duly executed on the 14th day of December Seventeen
hundred & ninety four & proved in my
office on the 29th day of march Seventeen hundred
& ninety six a certain Negro Boy named
Bob of a yellowish complexion five feet two
Inches & a half high has a scar on the lash of
his right eye tolerably thick set & well made
except a little bow legged was manumitted
& set free at the age of thirty years by the last
will & Testament of the said William Gouldsborough
             His person identified by a certain Roston
A Skinner   Given under my hand & Seal this
Sixth day of march Eighteen hundred & twenty
two

(Seal)                               for Queen Anns County
          Note.      negro Robert above mentioned was
identified by letter from Roston A Skinner dated 5th
march 1822 which letter is filed
