57 Man named Cloudsberry very black five feet eight and a quarter Inches high was manumitted and set free by the last will and Testament of the said Sophia Roe OBryan his freedom to commence on the first day of January in the Year eighteen hundred and Seventeen His person identified by a certain Samuel Norris Copper Given under my hand and Seal this 2.nd day of January in the Year eighteen hundred and nineteen Tho.s C Earle Rg wills Queen Anns County The State of Maryland Queen Anns County To Wit Whereas application has this day been made to me by a Certain Negro Man named Jim for a Certificate of his being free I do therefore here by Certify to all persons whom it doth or may Concern that by the last will and Testament of a Certain Elizabeth Jacobs late of Queen Anns County deceased proved in my office on the 6 May 1817 a Certain negro Man named Jim of a dark Complexion about five feet one and half Inches high about forty two years of age as represented to me a scar on the nose about the Jointure of the forehead and a large scar on the left Legg occasioned by a Bruise was manumitted and set free his freedom to commence at the death of the Testatrix his person known to me In Testimony &c Jany 29 1819 Tho C Earle Rg Wills The state of Maryland Queen Anns County to wit I do hereby Certify to all persons whom it doth or may concern that by the last will and Testament of a Certain William Merchant deceased proved in my office on the 31 day of October 1803 a Certain negro Woman named Sarah of a dark Complexion five feet 2½ Inches |
