52 The State of Maryland Queen Anns County to wit Whereas application has this day been made to me by a Certain Negro Woman named Bett or Elizabeth for a Certificate of her being a free person I do therefore hereby Certify to all persons whom it doth or may Concern that by the last Will and Testament of a Certain William B Hackett late of Queen Anns County deceased duly executed on the thirteenth day of November Eighteen hundred and seven and proved in my office on the fourth day of April Eighteen hundred and Eight a Certain Negro Woman named Bett of a dark complexion five feet two Inches and 5/8 high about thirty six years of age has a scar over the left Eye between the Lid and brow has a scar on the left arm every much pitted by the small pox was manumitted and set free her freedom to commence on the thirty first day of December 1814 her person identified by the oath of a Certain Mrs Elizabeth Caradine of Cvile In Testimony &c this 2nd June 1818 Tho C Earle Rg Wills The State of Maryland Queen Anns County To Wit I do hereby Certify to all persons whom it doth or may concern that by the last Will and Testament of a Certain Richard Hall late of Queen Anns County deceased duly executed on the 27th day of april 1809 and proved in my office on the 3rd day of June 1809 a Certain Negro Man named Greenbury of a dark complexion about twenty two years of age five feet eight inches high has a scar on the inside of the right hand has had his Ears pierced a small scar on the foreghead Was manumitted and set free his freedom to commence after his having served nine years from the date of the Testators Will his person Identified by the oath of a certain Moses Meredith July 18 1818 Certified p Tho C Earle R Wills |
