50 the year 1817 his person Identified by a Certain James Busby to be the same mentioned by the Testator in his said Will In Testimony &c This 14th day of February 1818 Tho C Earle Reg Wills Q A County The State of Maryland Queen Anns County to Wit Whereas a Certain negro Man named Joe has made application to me for a Certificate of his freedom under an act of the General assembly of this State passed November session Eighteen hundred and five I do therefore hereby Certify to all persons whom it doth or may concern that by the last Will and Testament of a Certain William Briggs late of Queen Anns County deceased duly executed on the 28.th day of March 1801 and proved in my office on the 10.th day of April 1801 a Certain Negro Man named Joe of a dark Complexion five feet six and ½ inch high hath a scar on the forefinger of the right hand extended from the Jointure of the hand to the finger thence runing down to the end of the joint of the same finger Was manumitted and set free his freedom to commence on his arriving at 34 years of age his person identified by a Certain John Watson Given under my hand this 7 March 1818 Tho C Earle Rg Q A C The State of Maryland Queen Anns County to wit Whereas a certain Negro woman named Sibinah has made application to me for a certificate of her freedom under an act of the General assembly of this State passed November session Eighteen hundred and five I do therefore hereby certify to all persons whom it doth or may concern that |
