48 to have belonged to the said John Whittington by a certain Robert Carsons this is therefore to make known that the aforesaid Rebecca is a free woman she is five feet and one fourth of an Inch high dark complexion well made hath a scar on the right arm above the elbow occasioned by enoculations for the smallpox and one below between the elbow and rist occasioned by the prick of a Nail and several scars on the left arm she is proved to me to be twenty seven years of age and upwards In Testimony &c June 24 1817 Tho C Earle Reg Wills The State of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit Whereas application has this day been made to me by a Certain Negro Man named Charles for a Certificate of his being a free person This is therefore to Certify to all persons whom it doth or may concern that by the last Will and Testament of a Certain Jacob Tolson late of Queen Anns County deceased duly executed on the second day of March 1810 and proved in my office on the 29th day of the same month and year A Certain Negro man named Charles of a dark complexion five feet and one fourth of an Inch high about thirty years of age hath a scar on the Chin occasioned by a Cut Was Manumitted and set free his freedom to commence at the Expiration of seven years from the death of the Testator his person Identified by a Certain Mary Alloway In Testimony &c this 1t day of september 1817 Tho C Earle Rg Wills Q A C |
