47 The State of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit Whereas application hath been made to me by a certain Negro Woman named Doll for a certificate of her freedom under an act of the General assembly of this state passed November session eighteen hundred five I do therefore hereby Certify to all persons whom it doth or may concern that by the last will & Testament of a Certain John Seaders late of Queen Anns County deceased duly executed on the sixth day of June Eighteen hundred and five and proved in my office on the 20th day of November 1806 a Certain Negro Woman named Doll of a dark complexion about twenty seven years of age five feet four and a half Inches high has a scar on the back of the Neck occasioned by a scald and also a flesh mold on the back of the Neck a small scar on the left of the left eye Was Manumitted and set free her freedom to Commence after her serving Ten years from the death of the Testator her person identified by Sam seeder Tho C Earle Reg Wills January 13 1817 The State of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit I do hereby Certify to all persons whom it doth or may Concern that by the last Will and Testament of a Certain John Whittington late of Queen Anns County deceased duly executed on the seventh day of February 1795 and proved in my office on the 11th day of august in the same year it doth appear it doth appear that he willed all his Negroes to be free as they respectively arrive to the age of Twenty five years and whereas a Certain Negro Woman named Beck or Rebecca has made application to me for a Certificate of her being free under the said Will and her being free proved to me |
