46 I give and devise unto my beloved before mentioned Cousin Samuel Gould after the death of my wife as aforesaid such of my Negro Slaves as may then be under the age of sixteen years untill they respectively arrive attain the age of Twenty five years and do will and decree that they shall all be free at the age last aforesaid And Whereas a Certain Negro Woman named Anna alias Anna Williams hath proved to me by the oath of a Certain Robert Carsons that she is one of the slaves mentioned ^& is 25 yr of age^ in said devise I do therefore further Certify that the said Negro Anna has a scar ^black mole^ on the right side of the face of a dark complexion and is five feet 2 and ½ inches high In Testimony & Oct 23rd 1816 The State of Maryland Queen Anns County to wit I do hereby Certify to all persons whom it doth or may Concern that by the last Will and Testament of a certain James Hay late of Queen anns County deceased duly executed on the nineteenth day of September 1812 and proved in my office on the 13 day of April 1813 a certain Negro Woman named Fanny of a dark complexion about twenty six years of age 5 feet 2 & ¾ Inch High has a mark under the right eye and one on the joint of the third finger of the right hand was manumitted & set free her freedom to commence on her arrival at the age of twenty five years her person Identified by the oath of a certain Elizabeth Hay December 7 1816 Tho C Earle Rgr |
