43 The State of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit Whereas application hath been made to me by a certain Negro Man named Ben alias Benjamin Warrick for a Certificate of his being free I do therefore in pursuance of an act of the General assembly of the state of Maryland passed at November session Eighteen hundred and five hereby certify To all persons to whom it doth or may concern that by the last Will and Testament of a Certain William B Hackett late of Queen Anns County deceased duly Executed on the thirteenth day of November Eighteen hundred and seven and proved in my office on the 4th day of April 1808 a Certain negro Man named Ben of a dark complexion about forty years of age five feet seven Inches and a half high hath a scar on the side of the left hand occasioned by a cut and one on the small finger of the same hand was manumitted and set free his freedom to commence on the 31st day of December 1811 his person identified by the oath of a certain John Hackett to be the same mentioned by the Testator in his said will In Testimony &c this 22d day of August 1816 Tho C Earle Reg Wills The State of Maryland Queen anns County to wit Whereas application hath been made to me by a certain negro woman named Henrietta for a Certificate of her being a free woman I do therefore in pursuance of an act of the general assembly of this State passed at their November Session Eighteen hundred and five hereby Certify to all persons to whom it doth or may concern |
