42 The State of Maryland queen anns County To wit Whereas application has been made to me by a Certain negro Man named Primers for a Certificate of his being free I do therefore hereby certify To all persons whom it doth or may concern that by the last Will and Testament of a certain negro man John L Wilmer late of Queen anns County deceased duly executed on the 8th day of September 1794 and proved in my office on the 28th day of October 1795 he orders and directs that all his negroes not therein before devised or disposed of should serve his father untill they respectively attained the age of thirty four years when he ordered and directed that they should be manumitted and set free and whereas a certain negro Man named Primers has produced to me sufficient evidence of his being one of the persons alluded to in the said will mentioned to be free I therefore grant unto him this certificate with the following discription of him he is proved to be thirty four years of age and upwards he is five feet six and a fourth Inch high dark complexion well made has a scar on the Joint of the ankle bone of the left leg and one on his forehead |
