266 State of Maryland Queen Anns County to Wit I hereby certify to all persons whom it doth or may concern that a certain ^dark^ mulatta woman named Nancy now about twenty three years old five feet three inches high ^& without scars^ was manumitted & set free by the last will and testament of a certain Sarah Philips dated 14th March 1832 and admitted to probat in my office on the 28th September 1833 her freedom to commence at the death of the said Sarah Philips her person identified by the evidence of a certain D C Hooper Emory In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my name and affixed the seal (Seal) of my office this 14th November 1848 Lem.l Roberts Reg Wills for Queen Anns County State of Maryland Queen Anns County to Wit I hereby certify that a certain negro man named Jacob now about thirty five years old five feet ten & a quarter inches high ^not black but dark comp^ light complexion & has a small ^small^ scar on his upper lip was manumitted and set free by the last will and testament of a certain William Bryan dated 30th August 1830 and admitted to probat in my office this 12th March 1831 his freedom to commence when he is thirty years of age his person identified by the Evidence of a certain Robert S Bryan In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my name this 15th (Seal) day of November 1848 Lem.l Roberts Reg Wills for Queen Anns County |
