State of Maryland Queen Anns County to Wit
       I hereby certify to all persons whom it doth or may
concern that a certain negro man named ^Tom^ now about
thirty years of age five feet six inches high of dark
complexion & has a scar on his forehead & also on his
left leg  was manumitted & set free by the last will
and testament of a certain Philemon Thomas dated
on the 28th November 1831 and admitted to probat
in my office on the 19th day of December 1831  his
freedom to commence on the first day of January
Eighteen hundred and forty Eight his person
Identified by the Evidence of a certain John
Tilghman Esquire
                      In testimony whereof I have hereunto
                      set my name and affixed the
(Seal)             seal of my office this 16th Nov.r 1848
                                        Lem.l Roberts  Reg Wills
                                        for Queen Anns County


    Maryland Queen Anns County Sct  I hereby certify
that a certain negro Man named Tom Cain
now about 28 years old five feet eight inches high
of light complexion & has a scar on his left knee
and one on his eight thumb  was manumitted
& freedom appears by the last will & Testament
of Philip Feddeman dated January 22nd 1822
& admitted to probate in my office in the year
1822 & admitted his freedom to commence 1st
day of January 1858 according to the Inventory
of said Philip Feddeman on the     day    1822
his person Identified by the evidence of a
certain G. A. T. Wright
                                       In Testimony whereof
                               I have herewith set my name
                               & affixed the seal of my office
                               this 14th day aug 1858
