State of Maryland Queen Anns County to wit
       I hereby Certify that a certain mulatto Girl
woman named Eliza now about twenty four
years old five feet one & a fourth Inches high
of light complexion & has a scar on her throat
was manumitted & set free by the last will &
testament of a certain Alfred Jones dated &
codicil thereto dated 15th February 1831 & admitted
to probat in my office on the 18th April 1831 her
freedom to commence at the death of Eliza
Jones which occoured in 1843 or 44  her person
Identified by a certain Sam.l Bryan
                         In testimony whereof I have
(Seal)         hereunto set my name & affixed
                  the seal of my office this 24th
                   day of August 1848  L Roberts
                                             Reg Wills


State of Maryland Queen Anns County To Wit
             I hereby Certify that a certain negro man named Sam
now about thirty five years old five feet 6½ inches high ^rather^
^light complexion^ scared on his right temple ^cheek & neck^ and is severely Pock marked in his
face  was manumitted & set free by the last will and
Testament of a certain Mary McConricken dated 29th
February 1828 & admitted to probat in my office on
the 14th day of June 1837 his freedom to commence
at the age of thirty five years  his person identified
by the evidence of a certain Hiram Goodhand
             In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my name
             & affixed the seal of my office this 26th Sept 1848
