263 State of Maryland Queen Anns County to wit I hereby certify that a certain mulatto ^negro^ man named John now about thirty five years old five feet four & a quarter Inches high of light complexion & has a ruption in his abdomen was manumitted & set free by the last will and testament of a certain Margaret Ringgold dated 6th may 1819 & admitted to probat in my office on this 30th October 1819 his freedom to commence at the age of thirty five years his person Identified by the evidence of a certain Wm Comegys In testimony whereof I have hereto set my name and affixed (Seal) the seal of my office I this June 18th June 1848 L Roberts Reg wills for Queen Anns County State of Maryland Queen Anns County to wit I hereby certify that a certain negro woman named Rachael now about twenty eight years old five feet two & a half in high ^of dark complexion^ & has a scar on her right arm was manumitted & set free by the last will & testament of a certain John Smith dated 10th may 1823 & admitted to probat in my office on the 31st July 1824 her freedom to commence at the age of twenty eight years & her person Identified by the evidence of a certain Richard Knotts In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my name & affixed the seal of my office this 25th (Seal) day of July 1848 Lem.l Roberts Reg Wills for Queen Anns County |
