259 State of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit I hereby certify that a certain negro man named James now about twenty nine years of age five feet seven & a quarter inches high of light complexion and without any scars was manumitted & set free by the last will & testament of a certain Edward Coppage dated 15th september 1836 & admitted to probat in my office on the 18th June 1844 his freedom to commence when he is twenty ^eight^ six years old his person identified by the evidence of a certain William H Foster In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my name and affix the (Seal) seal of my office this 3rd Jany 1848 Lem.l Roberts Reg Wills for Queen Anns County State of maryland Queen Anns to wit I hereby certify that a certain mulatto woman named Retty now about thirty five years of age five feet five & three fourth Inches high dark complexion & without marks or scars except two small lumps near her right ear was manumitted & set free by the last will & testament of a certain Benjamin Wiggins dated 17th Dec.r 1823 & admitted to probat in my office 13th July 1825 her freedom to commence at the last of the year 1847 her person Identified by a certain James T Clark In testimony whereof I hereby set my name & affixed the seal of my office this 25 Jan.y 1848 Lem.l Roberts Reg wills for Queen Anns County |
