255 Maryland Queen Anns County to wit I hereby certify that a certain negro man named George now about forty four years old five feet eight & a half inches high of light complexion & has a scar on his left thumb was manumitted and set free by the last will & testament of a certain William S. Hambleton dated on the 7th day of December 1836 and admitted to probat ^in my office^ on the 7th day of October 1843 his freedom to commence on the first day of January 1838 his person Identified by the evidence of a certain Oliver E. Elliott In testimony whereof I have hereunto (Seal) set my name & affixed the seal of my office this 8th November 1847 Lem.l Roberts Reg Wills for Queen Anns County Maryland Queen Anns County to wit I hereby certify that a certain negro man named Jim five feet six inches high of dark complexion & has a scar on his right hip & his left little finger broken was manumitted & set free by the last will & testament of a certain ^Vinson^ Vincent Baxter dated 13th July 1831 & admitted to probat in my office on the 5th september 1831 his freedom to commence at forty years of age which was in the autumn of 1847 his person Identified by the evidence of a certain Vachael Downes In testimony whereof I hereunto set my (Seal) name & affix the seal of my office this 20th December 1847 Lem.l Roberts Reg Wills for Queen Anns County |
