234 State of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit I hereby certify that a certain negro man named Dennis now about thirty five Years old of light complexion five feet six ¼ inches in hight & has a scar on his forehead was manumitted and set free by the last will and Testament of a certain Elizabeth Maxwell dated on the 7th day of January 1831 and admitted to probat on the 19th February 1831 (in my office) his freedom to commence on the 1st day of January 1836 his person Identified by the Testimony of a certain Charles Reed togather with the letter of Wm Reed In testimony &c Oct.o 17 1845 Lem.l Roberts Regr wills (Seal) for Queen Anns County original proved to be lost another delivered 29th Decr 1846 State of Maryland Queen Anns County to Wit I hereby Certify that a certain negro man ^named Henry^ now about twenty seven Years of aage Six feet and half inch in hight dark complexion and has a scar on his right cheek was manumitted and set free by the last will and testament of a certain William Hemsley dated the 7th day of May 1821 and admitted to probat on the 25th day of November 1825 his freedom to Commence the 7th day of December 1844 his person Identified by Col John Tilghman In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my name & affixed the seal of my (Seal) office this 26th Decr 1845 Lem.l Roberts Reg wills for Queen Anns County |
