State of Maryland Queen Anns County to wit  I do
hereby certify that a certain negro man named
Arthur Simmonds about twenty four years of
age was born free of yellow complexion and
about five feet five inches high thick set
has a scar on his left great toe cut by an ax
Arthurs Mother was free at the time of his birth
and his father completed his time of service
with my mother consequently well known
to me from his infancy
                         In Testimony whereof I have
                hereunto set my name and affixed
                the seal of my office this 1.st day of
                April 1845

                                     for Queen Anns County


    State of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit
             I do hereby Certify that a Certain Mulatto
woman Named Harriet now about thirty one
years old five feet six inches high & has a large
Scar on his left shoulder  was manumitted and
set freed by the last will and Testament of a
Certain John Earickson dated on the 2nd day
of January 1819 & admitted to probat in my office
on the 5th day of May 1821 ^her freedom to commence at 29 years old^ her person Identified
by a Certain Charles E. Skinner
                       In Testimony whereof I have
    (Seal)         hereunto set my name & affixed the
                      Seal of my office this 5th May 1845
