I Do hereby certify that a certain negro man named
William Whales aged about 36 years five feet ten
inches high not very black has a scar on his
forehead was manumitted and set free by the last
will and Testament of a certain Sam.l R Elliott dated
27.th day of October 1830 and admitted to probate
in my office on the 13.th day of November 1830 his
person identified by the evidence of a certain
John S Elliott
                            In testimony whereof I have hereunto
    (Seal)               set my name and affixed
                            the seal of my office this 31.st day
                            December 1844

named William or Bill Dudley about thirty
years ^of age^ five feet five & a half Inches high light
complexion and has a small scar on his
left wrist was manumitted & set free by the
last will and testament of a Certain John
Hurlock dated the 9th day of September
1838 and admitted to probat in my office
1st day of April 1830 on the 30th day of
December 1842   his freedom to commence 1st January 1845
& his person Identified           In testimony whereof I have
by the evidence               hereunto set my name & affixed
of a certain Ira                 the seal of my office this 2nd
