his person Identified by the evidence of a certain John Williams
Chambers
                            In Testimony whereof I hereunto set my name
    (Seal)               and affix the seal of my Office this 29th day
                            of August Anno Domini 1843

                                                       for Queen Anns County


State of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit
                      I do hereby Certify that a certain negro
man named Sam aged about 29 Years five feet 2¼ Inches
high dark complexion has a small scar on the Calf of his right
leg and an other on His right hand Was manumitted
and set free by the last Will and Testament of a certain
Margaret Chambers dated the 2nd day of August
1824 and admitted to probat in my office on the 28th
day of November 1833 his freedom to commence at the
age of Twenty five Years  his person Identified by the
evidence of John William Chambers
                      In Testimony Whereof I have hereunto
(Seal)            set my hand ^name^ and affixed the seal of my
                     Office this 29th day of August 1843

State of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit
             I do hereby Certify that a certain negro man ^named^ Tom
about 48 Years of Age rather light Complexion 5 feet 5¼
inches high has a scar on his left leg somewhat pitted
in the face  Was manumitted and set free by a codicil
to the last Will and Testament of a certain Alfred
