             In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my name
                                  and affixed the seal of my office
(Seal)                         This 15th day of August 1843
                                                          Lem.l Roberts Reg Wills
                                                          for Queen Anns County


State of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit
                      I hereby certify that a certain negro man named
Charles aged about twenty seven Years five feet seven and a quarter
inches high Dark Complexion has a small scar on his left arm &
somthing resembling a wart on each little finger  Was manumitted
and set free by the last will and Testament of a Certain Margaret
Chambers dated on the 2nd day of august 1824 and admitted
to probat in my Office on the 28th day of November 1833
his freedom to Commence at 25 Years of age his person Identified
by the evidence of a certain Pere Wilmer
                            In Testimony Whereof I have hereunto set my
(Seal)                  Name and affixed the seal of my Office
                           this 29th day of August Anno Domini 1843
