177 Given under my hand and the seal of my office [seal] the 23 July &.c Tho C Earle Reg Wills for Queen Anns County Queen Anns County to wit I certify that a certain Negro Boy by the name of Charles aged about 14 years five feet 11 Inches high a Dark mulatto and has a small scar on his forehead was manumitted & set free by the last Will and Testament of a certain Nancy Meeds dec.d duly executed on the 8 day of October 1824 and filed in my office on the 10 June 1828 his freedom to commence on 10 June 1828 and his person being Identified by the Oath of John Wilkinson (seal) Given under my hand and the seal of my office this Tho C Earle Reg Wills for Queen Anns County State of Maryland Queen Anns County to wit I certify that a certain negro woman Jill now about forty years of age five feet five inches high Dark Complexion slight scar on the left wrist and also a scar on the forehead and good teeth was manumitted & set free by the last Will and Testament of Peter Denny duly executed on the nineteenth day of May 1804 & proved in my office on the 22 day of September 1804 her person was identified by the Oath Vachel Downes Given under my hand and the seal of my office (seal) the 21.st day of January 1836 Tho C Earle Reg Wills for Queen Anns County State of Maryland Queen Anns County to wit whereas application has been made to me by a certain negro Woman named Caroline & her Child named Christopher Corninsh for a Certificate of freedom under the age of assembly passed at November Session 1805 |
