174 I hereby certofy that a certain Negro woman named Eliza aged about forty years has a large scar on her left sholder occasioned from a burn several scars on hands and wrists stout build prominent features a large mouth and of a browne Colour is 5 ft 4½ inches in hight and was manumated & set free by the last will & testament of a certain Benjamin Wiggins duly executed on the 17 Dec 1823 and proved in my office on the 20 July 1825 her freedom to commence on 1.st Jany 1834 and her person having been identified by the Oath of a certain Ja.s T Clark In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my name and (Seal) affixed the seal of my office this day of 1835 Tho C Earle Reg Wills for Queen Anns County State of Maryl.d Queen Anns County to wit whereas application has been made to me by a certain negro woman named Silvey alias Silvey Dodd for a certificate of freedom under the Act of the General Assembly passed at nov session 1805 I do therefore hereby certify to all persons whom it doth or may concern that by the last will & Testament of a certain Hester McCosh duly executed on the 19.th day of June in the year 1813 a certain negro woman named Silvey 5 ft ¾ of an inch in hight light Coloured and flesh mark was left free by the aforesaid Hester McCosh when the said Silvey shall have attained to the age of thirty she having identified by a certain John Rigby Given under my hand and the seal of my office this (seal) 2.d day of April 1836 Tho C Earle Reg Wills for Queen Anns County |
