163 in my office on the 12th day of February in the same year. His freedom to commence when he shall have arrived at the age of thirty one years his person identified by the oath of a certain James S Keene Given under my hand and the seal of my office this 18th day [seal] of February in the year of our Lord 1834 Tho C Earle Reg Wills for Queen Anns County State of Maryland Queen Anns County to wit I Hereby Certify that a certain Negro Man named Phil Wye about twenty two years of age was born free he is stout and well set Complexion very black flat nose and five feet seven & a half Inches in height has no particular marks on his person except a Scar from a burn in early life on the side of the right Knee Phil's Mother was a servant in my family at the time of his birth and his father a slave belonging to me Consequently well known to me from his infancy In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my name and affixed the seal of my [Seal] office this 14 day of July 1834 Tho C Earle Reg of Wills for Queen Anns County |
