151 State of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit I hereby certify that a certain negro man named Henry now between twenty one and twenty two years of age his complexion black five feet eight & a quarter inches in heigth round face large and rather heavy good teeth & a very small scar on the top of his left ^hand^ directly between the fore and middle finger was manumitted and set free by the last will & Testamt of a certain John H Collier duly executed on the 31 day of December 1826 and proved in my office on the 19.th day of May 1827 His freedom to commence at the decease of the said Testator His person identified by the Oath of a certain Wm Mason who was sound ^stated^ that the estate of the deceased was perfectly solvent Given under my hand & the seal of my office this 29 day of May Anno Domini 1832 Tho C Earle Rr Wills for Queen Anns County State of Maryland Queen Anns County to wit I hereby certify that a certain negro man named Philemon who calls himself Philemon Baynard now about twenty one years of age five feet three & a half inches in height complexion black a scar on his right cheek just below the eye and a very large scar a little below the cap of the left knee was manumitted and set free by the will of a certain james Baynard duly executed on the 30 day of Decr 1824 and proved on the 19 day of April 1825 his freedom to commence immediately His person identified by the Oath of a certain James Roe Given under my hand and the seal of |
