145 upper part of his right foot & two scars or dark spots in the bend of his right arm one above and the other below the elbow joint also a scar about an inch long ^near^ on the above last mentioned spot was manumitted & set free by the last will & testament of a certain Margaret Cain duly executed on the 10 day of september 1819 & proved in my office on the 1st day of November 1823 his freedom to commence when he shall have attained the age of twenty four years. His person identified by the Oath of a certain Jeremiah Rhodes Given under my hand & the seal of my office this 2d day of May 1832 Tho C Earle Regr Wills [seal] for Queen Anns County State of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit I hereby certify that a mulatto woman named Clare now about forty eight years of age five feet six inches in heigth a scar on the elbow joint of her left arm and delicate form was manumitted and set free by the last will and Testament of a certain Richd Tilghman duly executed on the 12.th day of September Eighteen hundred and nine and proved in my office on the in my office on the 13.th day of November Eighteen hundred and ten. Her freedom to commence immediately at his decease. Given the said woman Clare well known by the Register under my hand and the seal of my office this 8 [seal] day of May Anno Domini 1832 Tho C Earle Rr Wills for Queen Anns County |
