143 State of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit I certify that a certain mulatto man named Charles Thomas about thirty five years of age five feet seven inches & three quarters in heigth a small scar near the second joint of the thumb of his left hand only three of his upper fore teeth remaining high cheek bones & large nose was manumitted and set free by the last will & Testament of a certain Thomas Murphey duly executed on the fifth day of November Eighteen hundred and thirty one and proved in my office on the 21st day of January Eighteen hundred and thirty two His freedom to take place from the decease of the said Thomas Murphey His person was identified by the Oath of a certain James Massey one of the Executors of the said Thomas Murphy Given under my hand and the seal of my Office [seal] this 9.th day of April Anno Domini 1832 Tho C Earle Rr Wills for Queen Anns county State of Maryland Queen Anns County to wit I certify that a certain negro Woman named Teney who calls herself Teney Walley dark complexion five feet one inch in height now about thirty four years of age a small scar near the corner of her left eye brow & a round scar on the top of her left foot near about the size of a twenty five cent peace said to be occasioned by a burn was manumitted & set free by the last Will & Testament of a certain James Kent duly executed on the 29th day of may Eighteen hundred & two and proved in my office |
