142 twenty seven years Her person was identified by the Oath of a certain William Meconikin Given under my hand and the seal of my office this 28.th day of March Anno [seal] Domini 1832 Tho C Earle Rr Wills Costs $1.00 pd for Queen Anns County State of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit I certify that a certain negro woman named Suck now about twenty five years of age five feet two & half inches in heigth dark complexion a slight scar at the corner of her right eye also a small scar on her forehead & pretty good teeth was manumitted and set free by the last will & Testament of a certain Ann Meeds duly executed on the 8.th day of October Eighteen hundred and twenty four and proved in my office on the 10.th day of June Eighteen hundred and twenty Eight Her freedom to commence at the expiration of three years Her person was identified by the oath of a certain Hester Meeds who was a sister of the said Ann Meeds Given under my hand and the seal of my Office this 3d day of April [seal] Anno Domini 1832 Tho C Earle Rr Wills for Queen Anns County NB The aforesaid Hester Meeds stated further that her sister Ann owed no debts at the time of her death except her Physicians bill which was duly discharged I thought best to mention this for reason that there has been no administration on the estate I however thought it unnecessary to state it on the certificate R E Clayton |
