135 State of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit No 25 I hereby certify that a certain negro woman named Harriett about 30 years of age dark complexion four feet ten inches in height delicate form good countenance and has lost a part of the fore finger of her left hand was manumitted and Set free by the last will & Testament of a certain Mary Devonish duly executed on the day of June and proved in my Office on the 25.th day of June 1814 Her freedom to commence on the 3d day of June 1826 Her person identified by the Oath of a certain Colo Devonish Given under my hand and the [Seal] seal of my Office this 27.th day of April Anno Domini 1829 original on parchment seal Tho C Earle Rr Wills impressed on rose paper & for Queen Anns County attached by a blue ribbon State of Maryland Queen Anns County sst No 26 I hereby certify that ^a^ a certain dark mulatto woman named Jude who calls herself Jude Smith supposed to be about thirty years of age five feet and three quarters on an inch in heigth a small round scar on her left shoulder and a scar on the fore finger of her left hand between the first and second joints was manumitted and set free by the last will and Testamt of a certain Margaret Ringgold duly executed on the 6.th day of May and proved in my office on the 30th day of Oct 1819 She was stated to be about twenty years old at the time the will was executed and to have her freedom at the age of thirty years. Her person was identified by the Oath of a certain Richd C Downes Given under my hand and the seal of my Office this 11.th day of May Anno Domini [Seal] 1829 Tho C Earle Rr Wills Original on parchmt seal impressed for Queen Anns County on rose paper & attached by a blue ribbon |
