131 person ^was^ identified by the Oath of a certain Henny Legg Given under my hand and the seal of my Office this 1.st day of ( ) September Anno Domini 1828 Tho C Earle Rr Wills for Queen Anns County the Certificate is on parchment the seal on Rose paper attached by white tape No 20 State of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit whereas application has been made to me by a certain negro man named Nathan Kelson for a certificate of freedom under an Act of the General Assembly of Maryland passed at Nov Session 1805 I do therefore certify to all whom it may concern that a certain negro man named Nathan Kelson aged about thirty five years Black complexion five feet five inches in heigth slender made and a scar on the cap of his left knee was manumitted and set free by the last will and Testamt of Benjamin Wiggins duly executed on the 17.th day of Dec 1823 and proved in my office on the 13.th day of July 1825 His freedom to commence in two years from the year 1823 His person identified by the Oath of a certain Elizabeth Wiggins the Executrix of the said Benjamin Given under my hand and the seal of my Office this 6.th day of Nov 1828 Tho C Earle Rr Wills for Queen Anns County The seal is impressed on rose paper black wafer and attached to the parchmt by a blue ribbon |
