130 and three quarters of an inch in heigth three small scars on her left arm very near each other also round black scar on her right arm which she states was occasioned by a burn her form rather delicate was manumitted and set free by the last will and Testamt of a certain Arthur Emory duly executed on the 8th day of March and proved in my Office on the 7.th day of April Eighteen hundred and seven Her freedom to commence in twenty years from the date of the said will Her person was identified by a certain Doct John Davidge Emory who was the Executor of the said Arthur Given under my hand and the ( ) seal of my Office this 26.th day of Augt Anno Domini 1728 Tho C Earle Rr Wills for Queen Anns County The original is on parchment & the seal impressed on rose coloured paper & confined by a blue ribbon No 19 State of Maryland Queen Anns county To wit whereas application has been made to me by a certain negro woman named Betty who calls herself Betty Cain for a certificate of freedom under an Act of the General Assembly of Maryland passed at November Session 1805 I do therefore certify to all whom it may concern that a certain negro woman named Betty now about 33 years of age dark complexion 5 feet 5 Inches and a quarter in heigth a scar near the corner of her left eye brow also a scar just above the elbow of her right arm slender made and has lost one of her upper fore teeth was manumitted and set free by the last will and Testamt of a certain Philip Feddeman duly executed on the 18.th day of July 1821 and proved in my office on the 22d day of Jany 1822 Her freedom to commence on the 1.st day of Jany next after the decease of the said Philip Feddeman Her |
