128 the upper joint of the middle finger of his right hand and a scar just below the cap of his left knee was manumitted and set free His freedom to commence in twelve years from the decease of the said Benj.a Blunt His person was identified by the Oath of a certain Samuel Wrenn Given under my hand and the seal of my Office this 26.th day of July Anno Domini 1828 Tho C Earle Rr Wills for Queen Anns County The foregoing Certificate is on parchmt seal impressed on rose paper & fastened with blue ribbon State of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit whereas application has been made to me by a certain negro man named Jesse for a certificate of freedom under an Act of the General assembly of Maryland passed at November Session 1805 I do therefore certify to all whom it my concern that a certain negro man named Jesse now about thirty two years of age dark complexion five feet five Inches & a half in heigth slender made a very large curved scar on the left side of his forehead occasioned as he states by the kick of a Horse ^and has an impediment in his speech^ was manumitted and set free by the last will and Testament of a certain Thomas Elliott duly executed on the 2d day of November 1813 and proved in my Office on the 24th may 1814 His freedom to commence at the age of thirty one years His person was identified by the Oath of a certain W.m Bryan Sen.r Given under my hand and the seal of my Office [Seal] this 19.th day of Augt Anno Domini 1828 Tho C Earle Rr Wills for Queen Anns County |
