No 14 State of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit whereas application has been made to me by a certain negro man named Jim Cain for a certificate of freedom under an Act of the General Assembly of Maryland passed at November Session 1805 I do therefore Certify to all whom it may concern that a certain negro man named Jim Cain now about thirty years of age dark complexion five feet seven inches & three quarters in heigth slender made a small curved scar on the upper part of his left cheek very near the corner of his left eye the elbow joint of his left arm out of place & small teeth was manumitted and set free by the last Will & Testament of a certain Philip Feddeman duly executed on the 18.th day of July 1821 and proved in my Office on the 22d day of January 1822. His freedom to commence at the age of twenty eight years His person identified by the Oath of a certain Philip H Feddeman Son and Executor of the said Philip Feddeman dec.d Given under my hand & the seal of my Office this 21.st day of July Anno (Seal) Domini 1828 Tho C Earle Rr Wills for Queen Anns County The foregoing Certificate is on parchment the impression of the Office seal on rose cold paper & fastened with blue ribbon No 15 State of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit whereas application has been made to me by a certain mulatto man named Jack in John for a certificate of freedom under an Act of the General Assembly of Maryland passed at November Session 1805 I do therefore certify to all whom it may concern that by the last will and Testamt of a certain Benj.n Blunt duly executed on the 29 June 1797 and proved in my Office on the 12.th February 1799 a certain mulatto man named Jack or John now about forty three years of age five feet eight inches in heigth a small scar near the corner of his right eye brow also a small scar on |
