121 when he shall have attained the age of thirty five years His freedom was identified by the Oath of a certain No 6 State of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit whereas application has been made to me by a certain negro woman named Susan or Sucky who calls herself Susan Anderson for a certificate of freedom under an Act of the General Assembly of Maryland passed at November Session 1805 I do therefore certify to all persons whom it doth or may concern that by the last will & Testamt of a certain Mrs Hemsley duly executed on the 7 day of May 1821 and his Codicil thereto executed on the 5.th day of April 1823 the last of which was proved in my Office on the 19.th and the first on the 25.th day of Nov 1825 A certain negro woman named Susan or Suckey five feet three inches in heigth about thirty five years of age dark complexion a small scar on the fore finger of her left hand occasioned by a cut a dark spot on the left side of her face about the sise of a dollar which she states was occasioned by the application of a mustard plaister and tolerable good teeth was manumitted and set free Her freedom to take place at the end of two years from the decease of the said Mrs Hemsley Her person was identified by a certain Ezekiel F Chambers who is the Admr with the will annexed of the deceased Given under my hand and the Seal of my Office |
