120 Sliney duly executed on the 8th day of May and proved in my Office on the 15.th day of June in the year Eighteen hundred and five a certain negro woman named Anna (now about thirty years of age complexion black five feet three inches and a quarter in height a scar just below the cap of the left knee ^and^ a small scar on her right breast both of which she states were occasioned by a burn) was manumitted and set free Her freedom to commence when she shall have attained the age of thirty years Her person identified by the Oath of a certain Rebecca Ringgold formerly Rebecca Sliney and Executrix of the last will and Testament of the said Ferdinand Sliney dec.d Given under my hand and the seal of my Office this 10.th day of September Anno Domini Eighteen [Seal] hundred and twenty seven Tho C Earle Rr Wills for Queen Anns County NB The original of the above certificate is on Parchment the seal impressed on rose paper & attached by a piece of common Tape No 5 State of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit whereas application has been made to me by a certain negro man named Jim who calls himself James Price for a Certificate of freedom under an Act of the General Assembly of Maryland passed at November Session 1805 I do therefore Certify to all persons whom it doth or may concern that by the last Will and Testament of a certain James Duhamel duly executed on the 20.th day of Augt 1816 and proved in my Office on the 29th day of Sept 1817 a certain negro man named Jim now about forty years of age five feet 1¾ Inches in heigth dark complexion a large scar on his left arm just below the Elbow joint & a considerable scar on his left shin was manumitted and set free His freedom to commence |
