113 Seal of my Office this 21.st day of February Anno Domini Eighteen hundred and twenty seven Tho C Earle Rr Wills for Queen Anns County State of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit Whereas application has been made to me by a certain negro woman named Rose for a certificate of freedom under an Act of the General Assembly of Maryland passed at November Session 1805 I do therefore certify to all whom it doth or may concern that by the last will and Testament of a certain Benjamin Forman duly executed on the 20th day of August 1815 and proved in my Office on the 6.th day of January 1816 a certain negro woman named Rose supposed at this time to be between forty and fifty years of age complexion black five feet and half an Inch in heigth a scar on her right Eye brow large flat nose has lost nearly all her teeth and her left foot so much injured as to have nearly lost one of her toes was manumitted and set free Her freedom to commence on the 1.st day of Jany 1824 Her person identified by a certain Sally Ann Meeds one of the Legatees of the aforesaid Benja Foreman Given under my hand and the Seal of my Office this 2d day of April Anno Domini 1827 Tho C Earle Rr Wills for Queen Anns County |
