112 proved in my Office on the 15.th day of August Eighteen hundred and twenty two a certain negro man named Pere aged about thirty years five feet six Inches in height complexion black well made and likely a small scar on or near the first joint of the first finger of his left hand a scar on the end of the little finger of his left hand and has good teeth was manumitted and set free His freedom to commence at the decease of the said Richd Simmonds His person identified by the Oath of a certain Samuel E Baker Given under my hand and the seal of my Office this 21.st day of February Anno Domini Eighteen [Seal] hundred and twenty seven Tho C Earle Rr Wills for Queen Anns County State of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit whereas application has been made to me by a certain negro man named James for a certificate of freedom under an Act of the General Assembly of Maryland passed at Nov Session 1805 I do therefore certify to all persons whom it doth or may concern that by the last Will and Testament of a certain Richd Simmonds executed on the 31.st day of November Eighteen hundred and fifteen and proved in my Office on the 15.th day of August Eighteen hundred and twenty two a certain negro man named James aged about twenty eight years five feet six inches and a quarter in height dark complexion a small scar on the upper part of his left wrist a small scar near the corner of his right eye and a good set of teeth was manumitted ad set free His freedom to commence at the decease of the said Richd Simmonds His person identified by the Oath of a certain Saml E Baker Given under my hand and the |
