103 to commence when he the said negro man Dowdall shall have attained the age of forty years His person identified by the Oath of a certain James W Brown to whom he was bequeathed by the said last will & Testamt of the said Wm L Brown Given under my hand and the [Seal] Seal of my Office this 3d day of April Anno Domini 1826 Tho C Earle Rr Wills Queen Anns County State of Maryland Queen Anns County To wit Whereas a certain negro woman named Henny who calls herself Henny Cain has made application to me for a certificate of freedom under an Act of the General Assembly of Maryland passed at November Session 1805 I do therefore certify to all persons whom it doth or may concern that by the last will and Testamt of a certain Philip Feddeman duly executed on the 18.th day of July 1821 and proved in my Office on the 22.d day of Jany 1822 a certain negro woman named Henny who calls herself Henny Cain of a dark complexion 5 feet 6 Inches in heigth two scars very near each other on the upper part of her right wrist a very slight scar near the corner of her right eye brown a small mole under her chin and has lost one of her fore teeth was manumited and set free by the following clause in the said last will & Testamt of Philip Feddeman " All my other negroes not herein before bequeathed under the age of 28 years at the time of my death including the negroes my son in law Mr Robt Wright has had the use and possession of my will is shall be free at that age and my negroes Hannabal |
