86 in Kent County and is now about twenty two years of age Witness Joseph G Briscoe JN Gordon jr May 26 1856 James is five feet nine and one half inches high of a light complexion Filed recorded & certificate issued May 26 1856 by J F Gordon clk Whereas my Father the Rev.d Francis Waters on the 10 day of August 1821 manumitted a negro woman called Dinah And in said manumission it is provided that the children born of said woman Dinah from the date of the manumission should be free from and after respectively arrived to the age of thirty years I now certify that a negro man called John H Sewell now present & applying for a certificate of freedom is the son of the said woman Dinah and that the said John is at this time more than thirty years of age (The name John H Sewell interlined before signing) (The name Dinah also interlined before signing) June 11 1856 Edwd G Waters John Henry is five feet five and three quarter inches high of a light complexion Filed recorded & certificate issued June 11 1856 by J F Gordon clk I hereby certify that Richard Henry Wilmer who is now present and applying for a certificate of freedom was free born and raised in Kent County and is now about twenty three years of age To the clk of the cir ct for Kt cty James W Patten Richard is five feet eight inches high dark complexion and has a scar on his left cheek Filed recorded & certificate issued June 12 1856 by J F Gordon clk |
