7 she was raised in Kent County (seal of ) In testimony whereof I hereto subscribe (Kent County ) my name and affix the seal of (Court Maryland) Kent County Court this first day of September in the year Eighteen hundred and forty nine Joseph Redue, Clerk of Kent County Court State of Maryland Issued and recorded on the 1st of September 1849 By Joseph Redue, Clerk To the Clerk of Kent County Maryland I hereby certify that the bearer hereof a negro woman named Rebecca Wright about forty three years of age of a light complexion was manumitted and set free by my Brother John Hines by deed of Manumission dated the eighth day of May Eighteen hundred and forty nine and which said manumission is recorded in the office of the Clerk of Kent County Court George N. Hines Sept 3rd 1849 Filed and recorded September 3rd 1849 and certificate of Freedom issued as follows Maryland Kent County to wit I Joseph Redue Clerk of Kent County Court hereby certify to all whom it doth or may concern that it appears by the records of Kent County Court aforesaid that a certain John Hines by his certain deed of manumission bearing date on the eighth day of May in the year Eighteen hundred and forty nine did Manumit, liberate set free and discharge from slavery a negro woman named Rebecca Wright about forty three years old I further certify that a negro woman of |
