To the clerk of Circuit Court for Kent County   This is to
certify that negro woman called Affy Miller now present
& applying for a certificate of freedom is the identical
person who was purchased of me by Horace Miller and
by the said Miller manumitted on the 4 January 1854
Febry 18 1854                           Richard Hynson
    Affy is five feet two & three quarter inches high scar in the
fore head & middle finger of the right hand
    Filed and recorded on the 18 day of February 1854 and

To the clerk of the Circuit Court for Kent County
    This is to certify that a negro man called William
Thompson now present and applying for a certificate
of freedom is the identical person who was manumitted
by Geo W Thomas Executor of William Thomas to be free
on the first day of January eighteen hundred and fifty four
Feby 18 1854                           Geo W T Perkins
Bill is five feet seven and a half inches high about
thirty one years of age dark complexion
Filed and recorded on the 18 day of February 1854 and

    This woman Charlotte is the daughter of Harriet who
was manumitted by my mother Mrs Susannah Perkins
her age is between twenty five and thirty as near as I can Judge
March 2nd 1854                              Ann Perkins
(see manumission dated the 6 day of Jany 1817 recorded
in Liber B. C. N.o 4 page 263)         Charlotte is five feet
four and one half inches high light complexion scar
on the right arm aged thirty years
Filed and recorded on the 2nd day of March 1854 and
certificate issued                      By James F Gordon clk


Mr Gordon I know the man Henry Cotton applying for
a pass for his daughter (Melvina)  Henry is a free man
the girl is free born of free parents residing in
