in Kent County his mothers name was Rebecca Ringgold
said Joseph Ringgold is about forty years old is about five
feet three & three quarter inches high is of a black complexion
and has a scar from a cut on the left foot

To the Clerk of Kent County Court            I hereby certify that
a negro woman named Francis Ann Perkins who is now
present and applying for a certificate of freedom is the
identical negro woman called Francis Ann Perkins who is
named and mentioned in a deed of manumission executed
by me to the said Francis Ann Perkins and her children in
which said manumission William Perkins the husband
of the said Francis Ann Perkins also joined said deed of
manumission was executed on the twenty third day of
January Eighteen hundred and fifty one and is recorded
in Liber J N G N.o 4 pages 354 and 355 one of the record books
of Kent County said negro woman Francis Ann Perkins
is about thirty five years old five feet three and three quarter
inches high is of a dark complexion and has a scar on
the right side of the face above the right corner of the mouth
and also a scar on the left side of the neck

Susan Dickinson a negro woman who is now present and
applying for a certificate of freedom was free born an
raised in Kent County said Susan is now about eighteen
years old is of a black complexion is about five feet three
and a quarter inches high having no remarkable scar or
