47 Jim Derry is five feet two and one quarter inches high black complexion scar between the lower lip & chin & a small one near each eye and is about forty four years old Filed and recorded on the 30 day of June 1851 & certificate issued By Joseph Redue clk To the Clerk of Kent County Court I hereby certify that a negro woman named Elizabeth Comegys who is now present and applying for a certificate of freedom was free born and raised in Kent County said Elizabeth Comegys is of a black complexion is about twenty one years of age is about five feet and one quarter of an inch high has a scar from a burn on the right arm between the wrist and elbow and a smaller one on the left arm between the wrist and elbow July 8 1851 Jas W Skirven Filed and recorded on the 8 day of July 1851 & certificate issued by Joseph Redue clk To the Clerk of Kent County Court I hereby certify that Vincent Comegys a negro man who is now present and applying for a certificate of freedom was free born and raised in Kent county said Vincent Comegys is about twenty eight years old is of a black complexion is about five feet five and three quarter inches high and has a small scar on the edge of the fore head over the inside corner of the left eye July 8 1851 Jas W Skirven Filed and recorded on the 8 day of July 1851 and certificate issued By Joseph Redue clk To the Clerk of Kent County Court I hereby certify that a negro woman named Caroline Groome who is now present and applying for a certificate of freedom is the identical person who is mentioned in a deed of manumission from Pomfrey Smith bearing date the eleventh day of April 1825 and recorded in Liber J W N.o 3 page 281 as his negro woman Caroline being of the age of Eighteen years said negro woman is now about forty four years old is of a black |
