46 person who is mentioned by the name of Mary in a deed of manumission dated the seventh day of september 1829 from William Medford to Louisa Wally and her two children Mary aged four years and Maria aged two years and recorded in Liber J N G N.o 1 page 107 I knew the said Louisa Wally for many years both before and after their manumission abovementioned and up to her death and have known her two children Ann Louisa and Edie Maria from very early childhood and they have have both acted as free persons ever since said manumission and I have no doubt the said Ann Louisa Comegys is the person who was intended to be manumitted in the deed of manumission abovementioned said Louisa Wally the mother of said Ann Louisa Comegys was the person mentioned in said deed of manumission and to the best of my knowledge and belief she never had a child named Mary said Ann Louisa Comegys is now about twenty six years of age from my best recollection said Ann Louisa Comegys is of a light black complexion is about five feet three and a fourth inches high and has a small scar on the left arm just above the elbow June the 4 1851 Joseph Usilton Filed and recorded on the 4 day of June 1851 and certificate issued by Joseph Redue clk To the Clerk of Kent County Court this is to certify that Mary Jane Cork the bearer of this is a free born woman her mother was a servant is our family & was raised in Kent County Md Millington June 28 1851 R M.cNamee John M.c Daniel 26 yrs of age dark complexion 4 feet 9¾ inches high Filed and recorded on the 28 day of June 1851 and certificate issued by Joseph Redue clk To the Clerk of Kent County Court I hereby certify that James Derry the bearer hereof is the identical person mentioned by that name in a manumission executed by Henry W Carville & myself on this day and filed in the clks office June 30 1851 Geo S Hollyday |
