45 To the Clerk of Kent County Court I hereby certify that a mulatto woman named Anna Maria Gleaves and a mulatto girl named Henrietta Gleaves who are both now present and applying for certificates of freedom were both free born being the daughter of Obadiah Gleaves and his wife Mariah Gleaves who were both free and residents of Kent County the said Anna Maria Gleaves and Henrietta Gleaves were raised by their Father (their mother having died when they were quite young) until they were old enough to go out to service when they were both put out by him in the City of Baltimore where they have lived ever since as I am informed and believe the said Anna Maria Gleaves is about twenty one years of age and the said Henrietta Gleaves is about nineteen years of age they are both of yellowish complexion said Anna Maria is five feet and one quarter of an inch high and the said Henrietta is four feet nine inches high April 24 1851 E Mansfield Filed and recorded on the 24 day of April 1851 and certificate issued By Jos Redue clk To the Clerk of Kent County Court Md I hereby certify that a negro man named James Anderson who is now present and applying for a certificate of freedom is the identical negro man who is named and described in a deed of manumission executed by me and bearing ^even^ date with these presents as James Anderson and as being of the age of thirty years &c said James Anderson is of a black complexion is five feet seven & a fourth inches high and has no remarkable scar or mark visible Henry Kelley May 13 1851 Filed and recorded on the 13 day of May 1851 and certificate issued By Joseph Redue clk To the Clerk of Kent County Court I hereby certify that Ann Louisa Comegys formerly Ann Louisa Wally a negro woman now present and applying for a certificate of freedom it so the best of my knowledge and belief the identical |
